"Essences of Brazil"

Embark on an Unforgettable Adventure in a National Park in Bahia, Brazil!

We invite you to join an exclusive expedition designed for a small group of adventurers seeking an authentic experience, deeply connected to nature and the vibrant Brazilian culture.

For 10 days, we will explore one of the most spectacular corners of the planet—a biodiversity sanctuary teeming with life, rivers, waterfalls, lush flora, and fascinating fauna. We will meet local communities and authentic characters who live in harmony with nature, discovering their cultural, artistic, and culinary expressions that will captivate you. All of this will take place in a safe environment of mutual support and personal growth, accompanied by an international group of like-minded travelers and experienced guides.

Our adventure begins in Salvador, the pulsating heart of Afro-Brazilian culture. This city, full of history, tradition, and unique energy, will offer us an introduction to the magic of Brazil. Its paradisiacal beaches, vibrant music, capoeira, charming people, and rich cultural heritage will provide the perfect welcome before we set off for the national park.

From Salvador, we will travel to the national park, where we will spend 10 days immersed in adventure, exploration, and deep connection with nature. The main activity will be trekking: we will embark on a four-day journey through the park, staying in the homes of local inhabitants, who will welcome us with their warmth and wisdom. Additionally, we will take shorter hiking routes to discover breathtaking landscapes, with the opportunity to climb or rappel down an impressive waterfall.

To balance adventure with well-being, we also offer optional movement and self-care activities, including yoga, stretching, an introduction to capoeira, a unique Brazilian “temazcal” (sweat lodge), a biodance session, a guided Thai massage to help the body recover after trekking, and breathwork sessions. This expedition is designed as an opportunity to reconnect with yourself while immersing in the beauty of nature.

Our itinerary is a well-kept secret because we want every moment to be a special surprise. To join this expedition, you must complete a selection process, which includes filling out an application form and having a video call with our team. We want to ensure this journey is a truly enriching experience for all participants. Once you’ve reserved your spot on the trip, you’ll receive a document with a more detailed itinerary, travel recommendations, what to pack, and how to get there. We will offer our support if you have any questions to prepare for your trip.

We aim to create a group of travelers who share our passion for learning, adventure, and community living. We value open-mindedness, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

We are committed to responsible tourism: we work with local communities, avoiding multinational corporations to support local and family-owned businesses. We believe in respectful cultural exchange and minimizing our environmental impact, promoting sustainable practices throughout the journey.

If this adventure calls to you, we invite you to take the first step and apply for this unique experience!

Activities and brief Itinerary Description

We have designed a unique itinerary to make the most of this experience, combining outdoor activities in nature with others held indoors at the incredible rural “posadas” where we will be staying. The main activities will include trekking, capoeira, climbing, conscious breathing workshops, yoga and movement sessions, a Thai massage workshop, and a temazcal ceremony to restore the body after trekking. We also have a few surprises that we’ll reveal only to those who join us on this journey. All activities are optional (you can choose to participate, not participate, or simply observe), except for the trekking, as this is the way we will be moving from place to place during those 4 days.

We will undertake a 4-day trail of medium-high difficulty, crossing the national park while staying in the homes of the few native families who live within the park. We’ll have the privilege of connecting intimately with the park’s inhabitants, talking with them and observing their lifestyle, deeply connected to nature in this remote area.

During the first three days of the trip, we’ll stay in a stunning rural inn with unique architectural style, fully integrated into nature and filled with artistic details—some obvious, others only noticeable to the most observant guests.

In this first part of the journey, we’ll also enjoy a Capoeira workshop led by Vanessa da Souça, a fascinating woman with a long career in capoeira, who has been running a capoeira project for over 15 years, along with a rural hostel in the village and other initiatives. During these days, we’ll also have morning yoga and movement sessions, as well as conscious breathing practices where we’ll learn to breathe better, optimize our breathing, and apply this knowledge to other activities. This will also help us reduce fatigue and improve physical performance during the trekking days.

The following 4 days will be spent hiking through nature, guided by our local guide Waldemar, as we explore the heart of this incredible place. We’ll pass through various types of vegetation, bathe in rivers and waterfalls, and enjoy breathtaking views. At the end of each day, we’ll arrive at a new home where we’ll be welcomed with delicious food. Every morning we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off to the next destination, making strategic stops to rest, swim in the river, or enjoy an outdoor picnic.

At the end of the trekking, we’ll arrive at a beautiful valley inhabited by natives, artists, and people who choose to live in close connection with nature. Here we’ll stay in another incredible and cozy family-run inn that resembles a stone castle, where we’ll have the luxury of enjoying a pool overlooking the valley. In this place, we’ll participate in the Thai massage workshop to help release tension, and we’ll be offered a temazcal—a traditional hot stone and steam ceremony to purify body and spirit, preparing us for the next hike to the great waterfall. There will also be some free time to explore the village and dine at one of its restaurants.

To be part of this adventure, we’d like to get to know you better, so we ask that you contact us to schedule a 15-minute call to see if this trip is right for you—and if you are right for this trip. During the call, we’ll provide more information and details about the experience, and once you sign up, we’ll send you a document with the detailed itinerary, instructions on what to bring, how to get there, and other recommendations.
